Then I turned my face to the Lord God, seeking him by prayer and pleas for mercy with fasting and sackcloth and ashes.

Pray
Daniel was in an intense state of mourning and repentance for his people’s sin. Daniel prayed, fasted and wore sackcloth and ashes to show this intense state of mourning. As people we are in constant need of prayer to avoid temptations and sin. Pray that the people in our church would be led away from sin. This might also be a great time to observe a fast today as you seek guidance for God’s people.
